John Goff was found dead at his home in Argyle Street, Gorse Hill, on Thursday, September 18.
The 66-year-old had pleaded guilty to possession of an extreme pornographic image, possession of prohibited images of a child and making indecent pseudo-photographs of a child at Swindon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, July 30.
Due to the seriousness of the charges, his case was committed to Swindon Crown Court for sentencing on Friday, September 12, which was then rescheduled for Friday, September 19.
A pre-inquest was opened into Mr Goff's death at Wiltshire and Swindon Coroner’s Court on Tuesday, September 30 and the date for a final inquest hearing is yet to be fixed.
At Mr Goff's court appearance in July, prosecutor Mr Cooper said that the images in Mr Goff's possession included moving images of an 11 to 12 year old boy and a six to seven-year-old girl.
