The plans, which were first put forward in 2022, proposed a change of use for the land at Restrop Road in Lydiard Green. On September 30, 2025, the latest appeal was officially dismissed by planning inspector Matthew Jones, meaning that the proposal will not go ahead. However, the applicant - who has obtained planning permission for more than 350 caravan sites throughout England and Wales - believes the traveller site should be allowed to exist. The majority of the traveller sites which have been built by Philip Brown Associates Limited have been won on appeal. Despite this admission, the caravan site will not be built at Lydiard Green.
