WHEN we woke up to the section of Huntington Road where we live having been “flagged” overnight we felt sick, we felt threatened. This is also not about a few people sticking up some flags out of “pride” (in what?) I STUDIED and worked in York five decades ago and have enjoyed many visits to the city since. Local authorities are custodians of the street furniture which benefits us all, and flag warriors should keep their hands off. Individual households can fly their flags – as long as they don't expect the rest of us to follow suit.
