Shafaqna English- Iraq’s housing sector has secured the largest share of investment licenses in the country, with over 632,000 housing units approved. This initiative is a key component of the government’s strategy to address Iraq’s housing crisis, the National Investment Commission (NIC) announced. According to a statement from NIC Chairman Haider Makkiya, the total number of housing units licensed by the NIC stands at 424,926 across both vertical and horizontal projects. These figures confirm the housing sector’s priority status in attracting investment, with more projects expected to be announced soon. Makkiya also noted that the residential investment sector includes real estate development models, which he described as a vital path for developing cities and enhancing their urban efficiency.
