Some days later, Gustav’s father (Harry Hindemith) returns from a POW camp, a mere shadow of his former self. Privately, Elisabeth is betrothed to Dr. Herbert Blohm (Claus Holm, who had played police assistant Lorenz in RAZZIA). As the days pass and Platzer fails to return home, his worried fiancée and his sister seek help from the police.
