For the first time, a Mother Lode League meet was hosted by Big Valley Christian, with the race taking place Wednesday at East La Loma Park in Modesto. In the girls’ division, Calaveras beat Big Valley Christian 15-0 and topped Bret Harte 25-30. Calaveras and Summerville are 2-1, Bret Harte and Linden are 1-2, and Big Valley Christian is 0-3. In the boys standings, Riverbank is 3-0; Summerville, Bret Harte and Big Valley Christian are 2-1; while Calaveras and Linden are 0-3. For Bret Harte senior Ayla Jodie, the unknowns of a new course were not as daunting with no hills to deal with.
