The number of offences dropped when compared to July, which saw 2,219 offences reported. The most reported crime last month was violence against an individual, of which there were 336 offences. Sutton saw 99 instances of shoplifting, 28 instances of theft from a person, and seven instances of bicycle theft. The third most reported crime was public order offences, which saw 85 reports made to Sutton Police. There were 60 cases of vehicle offences, with 48 thefts from a vehicle and 36 theft or unauthorised taking from a vehicle cases reported.
