Bird lovers and nature fans can experience Onondaga Lake’s fall beauty up close during a guided walk on Sunday, Oct. 19. The Onondaga Lake Conservation Corps is hosting a “Walk In Nature” event at 10 a.m., offering a 2-hour, 1-mile trek along the West Shore Trail. Experts from the National Audubon Society and Montezuma Audubon Center will lead the walk, focusing on restored wetlands, migratory birds, and native wildlife. Participants will learn how conservation work has helped rebuild vital habitats around the lake. The walk begins at the NYSDEC Onondaga Lake Visitors Center, located at 280 Restoration Way in Syracuse.
