theSpace Scotland CIC has been working on proposals for a “youth-powered community facility” on the edge of the town for a number of years. The group released a video on Sunday evening asking for assistance to raise £10,000 and, within 24 hours, the target had been met. “It does not matter if it is small or large, it is a person putting an act of faith in the process and ambitions we have for theSpace Dunbar. The video states that Dunbar is “growing” and “changing” but the town’s “indoor, social, cultural and creative spaces haven’t kept up”. Mr Girling said: “That’s why we’re building theSpace Dunbar: a youth-powered community-led hub for movement, creativity, connection and learning.
