Mr Briggs, the Conservative and Unionist candidate for the East Lothian Coast and Lammermuirs constituency, began his campaign in North Berwick. He was joined by deputy party leader Rachael Hamilton, South Scotland MSP Craig Hoy, and a group of supporters. Mr Briggs, currently a list MSP for the Lothian region, said: "I am very excited to be launching my election campaign here in North Berwick. "East Lothian is a rapidly growing community with many challenges to be tackled in the coming years. Also confirmed as standing in the seat are incumbent MSP Paul McLennan (SNP) and current South Scotland MSP Martin Whitfield (Labour).
