Harvey)DOWNTOWN SACRAMENTO — With historic significance and eager anticipation, the Sacramento City Council voted 7-2 in approval of the entertainment and sports arena project’s terms and agreement on Tuesday night. What has been a long and arduous undertaking, the majority decision paves the way for the Sacramento Kings and the city to officially break ground on the site of the soon-to-be the defunct Downtown Plaza. The $447 million arena will be a show horse for visitors who chose to roam the grounds, restaurants, and shops that will build out the facility. The NBA lottery selection was held 40 minutes before the City Council meeting.
