A 10-year-old girl has died after an Air Canada Boeing 787-800 diverted to Shannon Airport. Air Canada flight AC-868 from Toronto to Heathrow was west of Mayo when the pilot reported they had a child in cardiac arrest on board The young girl was travelling with three adult siblings. Young Madra, en route from Toronto to Nigeria, suffered from a type of anaemia called sickle cell anaemia. The crew reported they had a young girl on board who was “unresponsive”. A doctor and a nurse who were also travelling on the flight began CPR.
