Barry O’Connel CEO of Dublin PortDublin Port Company’s pre-tax profits rose by 2.6pc to €35.9m in 2024, despite a €1.7m vacant site levy.
Revenues increased by 5pc to €106.26m, driven by price increases and towage/pilotage services.
Operating costs grew by 7.6pc to €67.5m, partly due to the vacant site cost.
Barry O’Connell shared, “The increase in revenues was largely driven by price increases and increased activity levels in towage and pilotage services offsetting reduced volumes.
Approximately 60pc of the decline was due to the closure of Holyhead in December which saw tourist passengers and vehicles down over 60pc.”
