The King’s Foundation has unveiled a seven-week 'Introduction to Farming and Rural Skills' course at Dumfries House, the Ayrshire estate championed by King Charles, aimed at adults who want a fresh start or to build on existing agricultural know-how. “We are delighted to be launching our Introduction to Farming and Rural Skills programme, designed to open doors for people who may never have considered a future in agriculture,” said Jacqueline Farrell, education director at The King’s Foundation. Participants will spend the first four weeks at the MacRobert Farming and Rural Skills Centre, a purpose-built facility on the Dumfries House estate farm that specialises in rare breeds. Free transport from Cumnock bus station and Auchinleck train station, along with all necessary equipment, is included to keep the course accessible. We are excited to see the countryside success stories that will no doubt come from this course in the future.”Applications remain open until September 22.
