Burma News International
In Kachin State, two locals were reportedly killed when the junta carried out an airstrike on Tsawlaw Township’s Lang Se gold mining area, which is controlled by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA).
“The plane dropped bombs, targeting the areas around the KIA’s regional headquarters in Lang Se,” a Lang Se resident said.
On September 17, 17 KIA military trainees were killed in a junta airstrike on KIA-controlled territory in Shwegu Township, Kachin State.
The KIA captured the entire Tsawlaw Township, including Lang Se, on October 2, 2024.
In recent days, the junta and its allied forces have launched an offensive to retake Lang Se.
