The Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (D-CAF) returns on October 1–26 for its 13th edition, positioning Cairo once again as a hub for international artistic exchange. Festival director Ahmed El Attar described the expanded AAF as a vital platform for promoting contemporary Arab productions to global industry figures. Such programming reflects Cairo’s ambition to consolidate its role as a cultural gateway linking Arab creativity with global networks. Cultural festivals like D-CAF not only enhance Cairo’s global visibility but also feed into wider economic goals. Each year, it transforms central Cairo’s architectural landmarks into stages for avant-garde performance, bridging local heritage with international innovation.
