Wilmington man arrested on drug trafficking charges

(Courtesy WPD)WILMINGTON — A 28-year-old Wilmington man was arrested during a traffic stop on Thursday and is facing felony drug trafficking charges after police seized a large quantity of fentanyl and other narcotics.
READ MORE: Wilmington man arrested for arson, burglary after early-morning fireAccording to a news release from the Wilmington Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle driven by Wilmington resident Deshon Rucker in the 4300 block of Market Street around 4:25 p.m. on Sept. 19.
During the stop, officers discovered and seized 27 bindles of fentanyl, 9 oxycodone tablets, and multiple pressed fentanyl tablets.
Rucker has his first appearance in court on Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. in courtroom 100 at the New Hanover County Courthouse.
