Southend man stabbed brother and girlfriend after he found them in bedroom

He burst through the bedroom door with a large kitchen knife and stabbed his brother three times, puncturing his kidney and his lung.
He then punched his girlfriend in the face, climbed on top of his girlfriend, repeatedly smashed her head into the ground and tried to stab her in the head and neck.
He was instead treated at Southend Hospital, where he required four blood transfusions and multiple plasma replacement treatments.
Buchnoon-Katsambe’s girlfriend suffered a three-inch wound to her right hand, which severed an artery, a 3cm wound to her left hand and a head injury.
“This was an uncontrollably violent attack as you were overwhelmed by feelings of anger and desire to hurt your brother,” she said.
