Six patients received treatment at the scene of the major incident which sees a police cordon in place, emergency responders including fire crews remain at the scene after an air ambulance landed inside the park. Three ambulances and two rapid response vehicles attended the scene, with alarming images showing a crumpled car on Fairfax Drive. A spokesperson for East of England Ambulance Service said: "Three ambulances, two rapid response vehicles, a paramedic car and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to Victoria Avenue Southend this afternoon following reports of a road traffic collision. "Six patients, including three children were assessed at the scene. "Three children were transported by road ambulance to Southend University Hospital."
