The patient - who had been seen on a bridge - was brought to safety after officers closed Keele Road, in Keele. A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "The man was detained under the Mental Health Act and left in the care of the ambulance service. " Article continues belowA West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of concern for a patient’s welfare near to the junction of the A525 and Quarry Bank Road at 11.18am, one ambulance attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was once brought to safety was assessed and taken to hospital."
