A force spokesman said: "We are appealing for information after a woman suffered a serious hand injury as a result of a dog bite. The victim had been walking her dog in the Tintern Street area when another dog ran from a nearby property and attacked the victim’s pet, described as a sausage dog. The woman sustained a significant hand injury which required hospital treatment including a two-day stay and ongoing physiotherapy and rehabilitation following nerve damage.
