Russia launched 400 drones and 40 missiles hitting different targets in Ukraine in the largest ever attack since the Ukraine war began in 2022. The Russian military said its forces carried out the large-scale overnight strikes against Ukrainian defense industry sites, using drones and long-range precision-guided weapons. Zelensky said over 400 drones and more than 40 missiles - including ballistic missiles were used in the overnight strikes, which he said targeted "almost all of Ukraine". The Russian attack came five days after Ukraine in a surprising attack on June 1, 2025 stormed Russian military bases using 117 drones.
