The decision by Taiwan to add Huawei and SMIC in the trade backlist is seen the extension of the U.S. policy formalized amidst the trade war between the two countries. Taiwan is home to the world's largest chipmaker, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC), a major supplier for Nvidia.
