India Partition: Who was ResponsibleThe NCERT, which prepares the school textbooks for the CBSE, in its latest module has put the blame of the Indian partition on Jinnah and Muslim League, Congress and Lord Mountbatten. They have issued two modules on ‘Partition Horrors Day and partition. Commenting on the partition, the NCERT module says,“Ultimately, on August 15, 1947, India was divided. There were three elements responsible for the Partition of India: Jinnah, who demanded it; second, the Congress, which accepted it; and third, Mountbatten, who implemented it.”The module quotes Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as saying that the situation in India had become explosive. Muslim League stood for Muslim Nation and Hindu Mahasabha asserted that we are a Hindu Nation.
