SALISBURY — Harry Agner has done a lot in his 95 years. “I could not believe it was happening to me,” Agner said about receiving the Order of the Long Leaf Pine. “Throughout his work and his life, Harry has exemplified the very spirit of North Carolina — resilient, compassionate and deeply rooted in service,” Warren said. Agner was married to Doris Cress Agner for 62 years before her passing in 2011. To date, he is the only Agner in the state of NC to be awarded this prestigious award.”
