Dos Pueblos pulled out a tight 10-8 victory over Santa Barbara High in a crosstown girls tennis showdown on Wednesday in Santa Barbara“Going into this match as the underdogs, SB played their best yet this season,” Dons head coach Shane Carmody said.
Dos Pueblos dominated the rest of singles play, as Mayo, Zella Cassidy and Isla Herrera all went 2-1 on the day, with the lone losses coming to Buist.
In doubles action, Santa Barbara High was led by Lucy Kronberg and Iris Heckes, who went 3-0 in their matchups.
The Dos Pueblos duo of Sonia Flathman and Ari Fisher finished off the victory with a doubles win to clinch the team’s 10th point.
The Chargers and Dons will head into the second half of Channel League play next week.
