The Down Syndrome Association of Santa Barbara County (DSASBC) is seeking nominations for this year’s Extraordinary Educator Award, which will be presented at the 14th Annual Hoedown 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Santa Barbara Carriage Museum. “The annual award is given to the best of the best that work with our disability community,” the Down Syndrome Association said. Tickets for the Annual Hoedown are available at DSASBC.org and at the door. Past recipients of the Extraordinary Educator Award include Alpha Resource Center’s Buffy Grenier, Kellogg School’s Claudia Watters, Peabody Charter School’s Danelle Hurtado. Also, Brandon School’s Laura Herrera, Help Me Grow Santa Barbara County’s Patty Moore, Goleta Valley Junior High School’s Cameron Stewart, Brandon School’s Jakie Zaida.
