Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has dissolved the expanded State Executive Council (SEC) following his return to office after a six-month suspension by President Bola Tinubu.
Fubara, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Nelson Chukwudi, noted that the decision takes immediate effect.
Touched by the action are commissioners, special advisers and other public officers affected by the recent Supreme Court judgment.
The CPS stated: “The governor has relieved all commissioners and other public officers affected by the recent Supreme Court judgment of their appointments with immediate effect.”The immediate past sole administrator of the state, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), had, on assumption of office, suspended all commissioners, special advisers and special assistants to Fubara.
He also dissolved all boards and suspended heads of parastatals he met on the ground in the state.
