My mother and grandmother believed that cod liver oil kept all ailments at bay. Doing the food shop each week is the bane of my life, but I reluctantly take it on. In this capitalist world we live in, I often wonder what’s so wrong with eating what was available and in season, using ponds cream and a dessert spoon of cod liver oil?
