October 2 1925The death took place yesterday of the Right Hon Sir Denis Henry, Bart, Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland.
During his brief last illness Sir Denis was ministered to by the Very Rev Father Richard, Rector, Ardoyne, and Very Rev Canon McDonnell, PP, St Brigid’s.
Chief Justice Henry was one of the most prominent figures in the legal and political history of this country in the past couple of decades.
The new Chief Justice was sworn in at Portrush before the Lord Chancellor, Sir John Ross, in June of that year.
Sir Denis Henry, the first Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland, held a unique position of being a Catholic Ulster Unionist MP before his appointment as Lord Chief Justice.
