Naji Saker for The Oregonian/OregonLiveFormer Detroit Pistons guard Quentin Grimes has signed a one-year, $8.7 million qualifying offer with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to a report from ESPN. This will end a long negotiating process for Grimes to return to Philadelphia after a breakout stint with the team at the end of last season. David Bauman, Grimes’ agent, told ESPN the first formal offer from the 76ers came last week for a four-year, $39 million contract. 25 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Grimes spent the better part of three seasons with the Knicks to begin his career. He has yet to spend a full season with one team since 2022-23 with New York.
