The Tigers stranded a season-high 15 runners, the most in a postseason game in franchise history, surpassing the 14 they left on base in Game 3 of the 1984 World Series. No team has stranded more than 15 in a postseason game since the Angels did it in Game 2 of the 2009 ALCS. Their 15 at-bats with runners in scoring position were the most in a postseason game since Game 1 of the 2012 ALCS at Yankee Stadium. “We’ve got one game left in this series, so need to win it,” said Casey Mize, who started Game 2.
