Court jails 2 for impersonation in Lagos

News Headline -Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, Tuesday, sentenced two men, Joshua Victor David and Abdulmalik Adesanya Olayiwola, to one year imprisonment each for offences bordering on impersonation.
Justice Alexander Owoeye delivered the Judgement on Tuesday.
The duo were separately arraigned by the Lagos zonal directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on one-count charge of fraudulent impersonation.
Similarly, Olayiwola was accused of impersonating one Kylie Dowdy on Facebook in August 2025, with the intent of gaining personal advantage.
In his judgment, Justice Owoeye sentenced David to one year imprisonment with an option of a fine of ₦300,000, and further ordered the forfeiture of his iPhone 16 and a ₦250,000 bank draft to the federal government.
