News Headline -Nigeria, in a historic milestone, has adopted the African Water Vision 2063, its accompanying policy framework and the official launch of its implementation. Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof Engr Joseph Terlumun Utsev, represented Nigeria at the meeting, according to the statement. The Africa water vision, it said, aligned with the African Union (AU) Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to ensure water security, safe sanitation and resilient ecosystem for Africa’s future. The council tasked AMCOW secretariat in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC) and the development partners, to submit the adopted African water vision 2063 to the 39th ordinary session of the AU Assembly of Heads of States and Government in February 2026. Speaking during the session, Prof Utsev commended AMCOW’s leadership and reaffirmed Nigeria’s strong commitment to the Africa water vision 2063.
