BELGRADE — A hunter was safely rescued from a swampy, wooded area in Burbank Township after he was located late Saturday using a drone. The Sheriff’s Office responded with a drone and K-9 to assist in finding the missing hunter. Around 10:42 p.m. Saturday, deputies deployed a drone and sent out K-9 officer Maverick, and around 10:52 p.m., the New London drone located the man, according to the news release from Cpl. The hunter was located by first responders around 11:39 p.m. and safely brought out of the woods around 11:57 p.m. Assisting the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the New London Fire Department, New London Ambulance, the Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad, Brooten Fire Department and Belgrade Fire Department.
