Tarana Newport, on Chepstow Road, was named Best Newcomer in Wales at Tommy Miah’s International Indian Chef and Hospitality Awards 2025. The awards, founded by chef Tommy Miah recognise excellence and innovation in Indian cuisine and hospitality across the UK and internationally. A spokesman for Tarana said: "To receive such a distinguished accolade so soon after opening is a tremendous achievement for both our team and the Newport community. "Our mission has always been to put Maindee on the culinary map, and this award is a powerful step in that direction."
