The Portskewett Inn in Caldicot, which recently reopened after a sudden closure in February, was inspected on August 8, and given a score of one, meaning "major improvement necessary". Ryan O'Grady of the Portskewett Inn said: "It is correct that we were given a rating of one in the inspection on August 8. The inspection found "major improvement necessary" in the management of food safety, with a lack of sufficient systems or checks to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat. The food safety officer also lacked confidence that standards would be maintained in future. The Portskewett Inn, located on Main Road, re-opened recently after closing in February.
