Last Thursday afternoon (September 18) 27 pupils travelling from Coleg y Cymoedd’s Ystrad Mynach campus were left shaken when their bus driver collapsed behind the wheel. With their driver unconscious and the bus veering towards nearby traffic, the life-or-death scenario became apparent to pupils aboard the bus. Thankfully, some quick-thinking individuals grouped together to stop the bus and guide it away from oncoming traffic as the bus travelled through Maesycwmmer. At the scene the doctor quickly determined that the driver had suffered a heart attack.
