Surrey woman 'conned out of £350,000' by scammers using 'modern technologies'

According to the force, so far this year, in Surrey victims of investment fraud are losing an average of £49k to the scam in each case.
In a recent case, a Fraud Caseworker from the Victim and Witness Care unit at Surrey Police supported a victim who was "conned out of £350,000" by an investment fraudster.
Surrey’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Lisa Townsend, said: "Investment fraud can be extremely sophisticated, and it is often difficult to distinguish between a real opportunity and a scam."

The force has also provided a list of 'warning signs' to be aware of in investment fraud.
