ERIE, Pa. — Sixth-ranked Minnesota Duluth finished up a nonconference series sweep at Mercyhurst on Saturday, defeating the Lakers 5-3.
One of the Bulldogs' five goals came from senior forward Thea Johansson, a Swedish national team player who played three seasons for the Lakers before transferring to UMD in the offseason.
Johansson led Mercyhurst in scoring the previous two seasons, and is now five points shy of 100 for her college career.
The Bulldogs trailed 1-0 after the first period and 3-2 in the second period after Mercyhurst scored on the power play with 6:20 to go before the second intermission.
Junior goaltender Eve Gascon finished with 22 saves for the Bulldogs and Mercyhurst goalie Magdalena Luggin of Austria made 28 saves.
