Which is Slovakia’s worst regional road?
['Petit Press', 'Compiled Spectator Staff']
The Slovak Spectator1
In the east of Slovakia, heading south-west from Prešov, runs a secondary road that ends beyond the village of Hnilčík.
At first glance, this seemingly insignificant stretch nevertheless holds a record in Slovakia: it is the most dilapidated road of its category.
Data recently published by the Slovak Road Administration (SSC) show that as much as 55 percent of its length is in unsatisfactory condition, making it the worst “secondary road” in the country.
For regional roads, however, a different trend is emerging: the worst appear to be in eastern and central Slovakia.
In its ranking of the 15 worst roads, the daily Hospodárske noviny included only routes longer than 50 kilometres.
