The M1 has finally reopened following a serious crash that took place this afternoon (Tuesday, September 23). All emergency services attended the scene, including police, road ambulance, the fire service and even an air ambulance. The southbound carriageway reopened just before 3pm, while northbound remained fully closed until 6pm between junction 20 at Lutterworth and junction 21. Only lane 3 had been reopened northbound at the time of writing at 6.20pm. National Highways said: "The M1 in Leicestershire has re-opened northbound between J20 (Lutterworth) & J21 (M69, Leicester) following a serious collision.
