Bridge connecting Nottingham and West Bridgford to close as love locks removedThere are still a few weeks left to collect the sentimental padlocksLove locks on Nottingham bridge to be taken down - but 'lovely meaning' to be honouredA Nottingham bridge covered in love locks will be closed off so the sentimental padlocks can be removed following concerns that they are weighing down the structure. ‌In August, water supplier Severn Trent said it would remove the locks that currently cover the Wilford Suspension Bridge, which connects The Meadows and West Bridgford over the River Trent. Severn Trent has now confirmed the bridge will be closed on October 7, from 9am to 4pm, whilst workers take down the sentimental love locks. "The work will be carried out by STW contractors to remove the love locks from the bridge". Severn Trent had previously said anyone wanting to keep their love locks would be required to reclaim them by this date.
