South Dakota State University is hosting the second annual SDSU Days, showcasing science, arts and hands-on discovery, at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls on Friday and Saturday. The event is a partnership with the Washington Pavilion, an arts and science facility and is sponsored by the Sioux Empire Staters, an SDSU alumni group. According to the event news release, SDSU Associate Professor of History Graham Wrightson is set to display a trebuchet — a type of catapult — by launching t-shirts. The event will also feature a variety of hands-on activities, including virtual reality globe exploration, levitation demonstrations, and health skills challenges. In its second year, Madelyn Grogan, director of education and museums at the Washington Pavilion, said the event aims to build on its success and expand its reach.
