Victoria Police Department’s General Investigative Section (GIS) led a multi-jurisdictional investigation into drug trafficking, resulting in the arrest of a suspect and the seizure of $41,000 in cash and 103 g of illicit drugs. On Sept. 22, police arrested a suspect in Langford. A subsequent search warrant led to the seizure of the items. The investigation, initiated by public complaints regarding drug trafficking in the Victoria area, involved officers from GIS, VicPD’s Strike Force, RCMP Island Emergency Response Team and Westshore RCMP. The investigation remains ongoing and is being led by GIS.
