The Solano County Board of Supervisors penned eight letters to Governor Gavin Newsom as several bills that the county has taken a position on throughout the year currently sit on his desk after passing the legislature. Five of the letters, regarding AB 424, AB 1288, AB 1430, SB 5 and SB 346, urged the Governor to sign those bills into law. Three of the letters, regarding SB 707, AB 518, and AB 339, urged him to veto those bills. AB 1430 would raise county recorder fees statewide, according to the memo, as Supervisors argued that recorder services are underfunded. Finally, Supervisors requested that the governor veto SB 707, which would mandate that cities and counties provide two way teleconferencing for open meetings in order to increase accessibility to all citizens.
