By Max Bryan, MediaNews GroupNorthville can no longer have on-street dining in its downtown area following a Wednesday court decision. City officials confirmed a Wayne County Circuit judge ruled that the restaurants on Main and Center streets in downtown Northville cannot use cement barricades to block off parallel parking spaces for street dining. The ruling is a victory for the group Let’s Open Northville, which pushed for this outcome in a July 18 motion. Restaurants in downtown Northville have enjoyed on-street dining leading up to this ruling, which was originally scheduled Aug. 14 but was moved back to Wednesday. The city must clear on-street dining by Saturday, Knight said.
