Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson reported on Wednesday that the Provincial Capitol Building in Bacolod City, which was immediately inspected by the Provincial Engineering Office, was found free of structural damage. However, work at the Provincial Capitol and Bacolod City Government Center was suspended on Wednesday, as ordered by Gov. The church, built in 1848 is considered one of the landmarks of Negros Occidental. Mayor Renato Gustilo also reported the collapse of a firewall of a drug store in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental. Local disaster councils across Negros Occidental are still monitoring other public infrastructure and residential areas for potential quake-related impacts.
