NEWPORT, Vt. (WCAX) – A Northeast Kingdom mental health resource will soon be open full-time. The Front Porch mental health urgent care first opened in 2024 with limited hours. It’s operated by Northeast Kingdom Human Services in Newport, which is on the verge of finishing a big expansion that will allow it to operate 24/7. The four-bed facility will provide help to anyone in the community, connecting residents with other mental health, substance use, or health care services. The urgent care is in addition to the 988 hotline and a state mobile crisis team.
