Washburn University announced on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, that Henderson Learning Resources Center was to receive a $35 million renovation and be renamed Advisors Excel Hall. Advisors Excel is a local business founded by Cody Foster and David Callanan, both of whom are Washburn alumni. Foster mentioned that the partnership and renovation emphasized the importance of investing in Washburn, describing it as a homegrown success story. “I’m really excited about the future of Washburn,” Foster said. Bob Beatty, chair and professor of the Department of Political Science, mentioned he was excited to see Henderson upgraded.
